Seeding a Community Still Being Built
Hydroseeding in Horizon West keeps pace with construction. Orange County adopted the master plan in 1995: a town center and five mixed-use villages, Bridgewater, Lakeside Village, Hickory Nut, Ovation Village and Seidel Village, set within a network of greenbelts. By 2017 it was counted among the fastest-growing master-planned communities in the country, and building has continued since.
Builder seeding
New phases mean many lots reaching final grade at once. We hydroseed lots, phase lines and parkway strips as they are ready, which keeps dust and sediment down for the families already living on finished streets. A single spray covers seed, mulch and tackifier, so the soil is protected the same day.
Greenbelts and common areas
The greenbelts tying the villages together include swales, berms and open space that need permanent cover. Those areas usually take more runoff than a front yard. We use heavier hydromulch or erosion control blankets on berms and swale sides and native-friendly seed mixes where the plan calls for them.
Lots of water
About 5.1 of Horizon West's 38.1 square miles, roughly 13.5 percent, is water. Retention ponds and lakes are part of almost every neighborhood. Pond banks get silt fence during construction and blankets or heavy mulch at seeding, then the fence comes out when the grass holds.
New parks, new ground
Phase 1A of the Horizon West Regional Park opened in 2026 with new parking, facilities and a playground. Public projects like that, plus schools and retail at the town center, add commercial grading and seeding work alongside the homes.

Horizon West Questions
Our builder lawn in Horizon West is patchy. Can you fix just the bad spots?
Yes. We seed bare areas and overseed thin turf instead of redoing the whole yard.
Do you work on HOA greenbelts and common areas?
Yes. Berms, swales and pond banks get erosion control blankets or heavy hydromulch so they hold through the wet season.
Can you keep up with a builder's schedule as lots finish?
We schedule by phase and seed lots as they reach final grade.
My address says Winter Garden or Windermere. Is that Horizon West?
It may be. Horizon West has no post office of its own, so many addresses use neighboring city names.
