Lawns Where Every Street Ends at Water
Hydroseeding in Casselberry nearly always involves a shoreline nearby. The city has more than 30 lakes and ponds, including Lake Howell, the largest, the Triplet Chain of Lakes, Lake Kathryn and Lake Concord, all within about 7.1 square miles. That makes sediment control and bank protection part of ordinary lawn work here.
Fernery land and Fern Park Estates
Hibbard Casselberry first bought 140 acres of fernery land near Lake Orienta, then developed Fern Park Estates on the land around the Triplet Chain. The town was incorporated in 1940. Many of today's neighborhoods sit on that land, so yards are often decades old, shaded and sloping toward the water.
Lakeside banks
When a lakefront lawn is regraded or torn up, the bank is where it fails first. We add a wattle or short silt fence above the shoreline, use a heavier hydromulch with tackifier, and blanket the steepest strip near the water. On a gentle slope, mulch alone often holds.
Parks and common areas
The city maintains 17 parks, from small neighborhood lots to Red Bug Lake Park, and a 2017 Parks Master Plan called for new facilities like a skatepark. Park edges, ball fields and new park construction all need turf work and erosion control when ground is disturbed.
Older home lawns
Mid-century lots around the lakes often have thin, worn turf. Lawn renovation, overseeding and a little topsoil in low spots bring them back for much less than sod.

Casselberry Questions
Our lawn slopes into Lake Howell. How do you keep it from washing?
A wattle or silt fence above the shoreline, tackifier in the slurry and erosion control blankets on the steepest part near the water.
Is it worth renovating a mid-century lawn instead of laying sod?
Usually yes. Hydroseed costs less and roots well if the soil is prepped and watered.
Do you do work for parks and HOA common areas?
Yes, including ball field edges, pond banks and areas disturbed by new construction.
Our yard is shady from old oaks. Will hydroseed grow?
We match the seed to the light. Very dense shade may be better with mulch beds.
